CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Rogue Valley residents have always liked to put on a show. The first Jackson County fair was called the Agricultural Show and it was held in Jacksonville in 1859.

Then, in 1872, the Jackson County Fair Association was organized and there has been a Jackson County Fair held ever since, making it one of the longest-running fairs in the state.

The first fairgrounds were off of South Oakdale in Medford, but in 1898, the fair moved to a location near to where the Medford Armory is now.

Eighty years later, it moved to its current location in Central Point.

For 120 years now, Jackson County has hosted a county fair. It has changed locations at least three times, but in all those years, it remains fairly faithful to what the founding fathers originally had in mind.
