winter storm that will continue through tonight and into tomorrow morning. meterologist caitlin harvey and chief meterologist matt hoffman have been monitoring this system for quiet some time but first we are going to go to meterologist caitlin harvey for a look at current conditions. scattered snow showers are continuing to push through the area this afternoon, even in the rogue valley. colder air has already moved in, and will continue to get colder as we go into this evening. on and off snow showers will continue into this evening before becoming more isolated and winding down later tonight. bursts of snow will make for difficult travel and some slick or even snow covered roads in our higher and even lower elevations on the valley floor. accumulations in the rogue valley will vary with as much as 1-2" or so possible depending on the amount of snow showers that come through. otherwise, most of the accumulation will come in the higher elevations. roads will continue to deteroriate this evening, especially as temperatures fall. expect an icy and snowy commute monday morning for the passes. road conditions will likely be slick in the westside valleys as well. scattered snow showers are continuing to push through the area this afternoon, even in the rogue valley. colder air has already moved in, and will continue to get colder as we go into this evening. on and off snow showers will continue into this evening before becoming more isolated and winding down later tonight. bursts of snow will make for difficult travel and some slick or even snow covered roads in our higher and even lower elevations on the valley floor. accumulations in the rogue valley will vary with as much as 1-2" or so possible depending on the amount of snow showers that come through. otherwise, most of the accumulation will come in the higher elevations. roads will continue to deteroriate this evening, especially as temperatures fall. expect an icy and snowy commute monday morning for the passes. road conditions will likely be slick in the westside valleys as well. a winter storm warning has been issued for the southern oregon cascades, eastern curry county, josephine county and jackson county until 10 am monday. heavy snow in the cascades and new snow accumulations between 5-8 inches, with locally higher amounts, is likely. a winter weather advisory has been issued for all valleys west of the cascades, the klamath basin, western curry county and siskiyou county until 10 am monday. total snow accumulations between 1-4 inches are possible. a freeze warning is in effect for the oregon coats for tonight into tomorrow morning with temperatures likely getting below freezing both tonight and again tomorrow night. any lingering snow showers will end through the day monday with the coldest air of the season arriving tomorrow night. some record low temperatures are even possible. another storm system looks to move in by wednesday and thursday if you're heading out on the roads over the next few days, make sure
