Emerald is a pointer/pitbull mix who is a sweetheart of a girl. She is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds.
Because her gentle, kind demeanor was being very stressed from all the intense energies and sounds at the shelter, she was transferred to a foster home.
Her foster family say she has been very easy to have around absolutely loves water and laying in doggie pools.
She is smart, easy to train, and has a medium energy level. She is crate-trained, has terrific house manners, is house broken, and knows how to use a doggie door. This friendly gal is relaxed and excellent with cats. However, we don't know yet how she does with kids - so, if you have some, probably the best idea to bring them by to meet her.
Emerald is socially stable with other dogs and can be mixed with a variety of dog types, adjusting her play to that of the dog she is playing with. People at the shelter say it's been so much fun to watch her interact in play groups, and she loved having her picture taken.
She will do best with an adopter who will offer her patience and the security for her to adjust to her new home and family.
After that, she will provide a lifetime of love, entertainment - and plenty of pool days!

Her adoption fee is $150, plus $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson county.
