MEDFORD, Ore. -- The long awaited Avengers: Endgame was released into movie theaters across the country Friday. The movie is set to break multiple records over the weekend. According to media measurement company Comscore, the movie has made $60 million in its American preview showings Thursday night, making it the biggest opening night in history. Cinemark's Tinseltown USA theater at the Village at the Medford Center has showings all weekend long. Friday alone, there were more than 35 showings about 30 minutes apart.

Many southern Oregonians bought tickets weeks in advance to make sure they'd be able to get in the doors.

"The last movie left on a pretty big cliffhanger and we had to wait a whole year for us to see what happens," said Kurt and Kristin Gannett.

Kevin Golden got off of work at 5 in the morning Friday and made it to the 9:30am showing.

"I don't care if I'm tired or halfway asleep I'm going to watch the movie."

The Garnet's bought tickets to see the 1:20pm showing of the movie two weeks ago but before they popped into the theater, they popped into Baja Fresh.

"It was really close and the food is good. It just sounded good," said Kristin Garnett.

The restaurant's manager Maria Diaz said that's been the trend since the movie was released Thursday night. Movie-goers aren't just closing the loop on the Avengers, they're exploring the food options at the Medford Center either before or after the've left the theater.

"It's great. I love it. It's busy. It keeps us on our toes. It keeps us going so that's exactly what we need," Diaz said.

Firehouse Subs just across the way noticed the same thing. Crew member Suzanne Kendrick noticed more families have been coming in since Thursday's lunch hour. She added the restaurant is more than prepared for whatever Friday's rushes might bring.

"We have extra staff, especially for the dinner rushes because that's the time frame that we're going to notice the increase of extra people in the area," Kendrick said.

"We have extra staff going on. We also have prepared extra food. We're ready. We're ready," added Diaz.
