MEDFORD, Ore. — Congressman Greg Walden has secured his 11th election career win against 10 different democratic challenges. Republicans enjoy an 11-point advantage for registered voters in the second district. Congressman Walden's second district is one of five Oregon districts that have a largely rural area that takes in about 70 percent of the state's land area.

Representative Greg Walden says a loss of house seats in the democratic majority could affect his committee, "You know we'll move to the left in the house and that's not good for the west or our rural districts like this one, but we'll work with people as I have all along. In our committee 92 percent of our bills were bipartisan. We'll work with the Democrats in the house but they clearly have an agenda."

Congressman Walden will likely lose his chairmanship in the powerful House Energy and Commerce committee in January 2019.
