MEDFORD, Ore. – Medford’s latest business is all about other businesses. Medford Cowork held a grand opening today in their new store off of E. Main St. in downtown Medford. It’s a collaborative space that is working to create a petri dish of development for new ideas and entrepreneurship.

“This gives entrepreneurs, freelances, remote workers, people who are passionate about something a place to come work together,” explains Abigail Schilling, Founder of Medford Cowork.

Members can pay a monthly rate and get all the services that come with an office space, without having to commit to a lease or buy an office building.

“We have a flexible month-to-month membership model, kind of like a gym. We have different levels of membership so what you’re doing is you’re paying a monthly fee to get access to certain amenities,” says Schilling.

Members can decide, based on their needs, which membership works best for them.

“We have a ‘Basic Coworking’ where you come during business hours, maybe you’re a part-timer, you have a meeting in Medford once a week you would get the Basic Coworking Membership that gives you access to conference rooms, access to member events, and our online community, kitchen; all of that’s included,” says Schilling.

Their most popular membership option is a ‘Dedicated Desk’ membership, “The beauty of the Dedicated Desk, is that you have your own space but you don’t have to pay the price that comes with having an office lease or paying for four walls; when really what you’re looking for is a desk and a community,” says Schilling.

There are shared spaces created for collaboration, office spaces that are fully furnished and ready for a small business, and one-on-one areas for more private conversations.

The entrance to Medford Cowork is home to Middleford Coffee, where anyone can buy a cup to-go or enjoy it while they work.
“Being in this space is a perfect collaboration that we’ve always had in mind for Middleford coffee where we’re bringing the community together and we’re bringing the coffee community together,” says Jonathon Hillis, Middleford Coffee’s owner.
