Cynthia Rider Outgoing Executive Director says "it was very sad, it's a hard decision to make, but i know that it's the right decision for me and for the festival. I think that it's really a time for a change. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is at this incredible point in it's history with challenges and also great opportunities."
Businesses like the Ashland Springs Hotel are greatly impacted by the festival every season.
Karolina Lavagnino the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Newman Hotel Group says "we are in constant partnership with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We see of course direct impact when the smoke season is here and the OSF outdoor theater is closed we immediately see a drop in the number of guests staying with us."
The general manager at OSF told me that there will be an interim executive director while a new artistic director is hired.
This is the last weekend to enjoy an outdoor show at the Elizabethan Theater. Other shows end in two weeks.
