The suspect did not use a weapon in the course of the robbery, and was able to get away unimpeded.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A robbery at a Grants Pass bank on Monday has the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS) asking for help from the public to track down the suspect.

The robbery occurred at Umpqua Bank at 117 NE F Street at about 10:35 a.m. on Monday morning. GPDPS said that the suspect approached one of the tellers, then informed them that it was a robbery and asked for money.

According to GPDPS, there was no weapon visible on the suspect during the robbery, and nobody was hurt.

A teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, after which the suspect left the bank by the NE F Street side of the bank. The suspect then headed east, towards NE 7th Street.

The suspect is described as a white adult man, between 5'10" and 6' tall, and about 170 to 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a gray jacket, black knit hat, sunglasses, and yellow rain pants.

Police responded to the bank and immediately began a search—before they found the suspect's clothing discarded nearby. There were no witnesses or surveillance footage to identify what the suspect was wearing underneath those clothes.

GPDPS is hoping to hear from the public with information about the crime and the suspect—particularly anyone who saw him before, during, or just after the robbery. Contact Detective Brown at 541-450-6260.
