MEDFORD, Ore. — Part of Springbrook Road in Medford will be closed down for a long-term construction project beginning Monday, according to the City of Medford.
The first phase of the City's "Springbrook Road Improvement Project" will shut down Springbrook Road from Pheasant Lane to Cedar Links Drive roughly between January 4 and September, 2021.
In the meantime, traffic will be diverted to Crater Lake Avenue while phase 1 of the project is underway. Residents living in the area will still be able to access their homes during the constructions.
"When complete, Springbrook Road will provide multi-modal and improved passage through sidewalks to Kennedy Elementary School, North Medford High School, and Kennedy Park," the City said in a statement.
The improvements include a planned roundabout at Springbrook and Cedar Links, a a northbound and southbound travel lane, center turn lane, bike lanes, and street lighting.
There will be traffic delays, noise, and congestion in the area while the project is ongoing.
There will also be impacts at the McAndrews and Springbrook intersection while construction is underway for most of January, with signs and flaggers in place.
