TALENT, Ore.- This week, three cars at the Anjou Club apartment complex in Talent had their catalytic converters stolen, specifically targeting Toyota Priuses. Other vehicles near the Anjou Club apartment complex were also targets of catalytic converter theft in the past week.
People target catalytic converters because they contain precious metals, like platinum, palladium or rhodium that are considered the rarest and most valuable precious metal in the world to metal dealers. Selling globally demanded metals can sell up to $200 a piece.
The Anjou Club apartment complex management and tenets are both working with Talent Police Department to help find the thieves and to help prevent future thefts.
