CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office have now confirmed the identity of their suspect from Sunday morning's dramatic episode. Corey James Elmore, 28, was arrested for a laundry list of charges—including an outstanding warrant, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, eluding police in a vehicle, criminal mischief, aggravated animal abuse, and driving under the influence—after a brief stay at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Elmore is believed to have stolen a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup truck from Brianna Weast and her family, after Weast's fiance left the truck running to warm up that morning. The suspect then drove the vehicle north along N Foothill Road, before a Sheriff's deputy spotted him. A brief chase ensued, which ended when the suspect—unable to make a turn onto Corey Road—went off the road and crashed through a fence into a cow pasture.

The pickup struck a pair of yearling bulls, then veered back toward the road. Then, the Sheriff's office said, the pickup smashed into another fence before being stopped. Deputies were then able to take the suspect into custody "without further incident."

Elmore was booked into Jackson County Jail after his stay at Providence. The owner of the two unfortunate bulls asked deputies to put the animals down, due to their significant injuries.
