SALT LAKE CITY, Uta--- That game that seems to always show up in late November for the Ducks arrived in the form of a 38-7 loss to No. 23 Utah on Saturday.
The No. 3 Ducks' College Football Playoff hopes came to a screeching halt in a game that seemed to never fall Oregon's way.
From reverses that lost yards, to Oregon quarterback Anthony Brown tripping on his own feet, the Ducks suffered their second loss of the season in Utah.
Brown only threw for 231 yards and one touchdown while going 17/35.
Oregon's rushing game was non-existent. Byron Cardwell led the rushing attack for the Ducks with only 35 rushing. Even Oregon's leading man on the ground since the CJ Verdell injury, Travis Dye, only carried the ball six times for 29 yards.
For Utah, Cameron Rising went 10/18 for 178 yards.
Utah running back Tavion Thomas led the Utes in rushing. He had 21 carries for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Oregon can still make the Pac-12 Championship game with a win over Oregon State. The rivalry game will be played on Saturday, November 27 at 12:30 p.m. It will be played at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.
