EAGLE POINT—Tyrone Holmes, a former Eagle Point and Montana defensive force, has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad.
Holmes, 25, is a 6-2, 253 pound linebacker and played in 15 games for the Cleveland Browns in 2016-2017. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and also had a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In 2015, Holmes was awarded the STATS FCS Defensive Player of the Year Award after a dominant senior season at Montana.
Holmes also starred for Eagle Point High School, where he was named the Midwestern League’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and a first-team all-state defensive end as well.
