SOUTHERN OREGON, Ore--- The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced their Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital weekly awards again on Monday. A trio of local athletes were named to awards.
Oregon Tech's Garret Albrecht was named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6'9" senior had a career-high 32 points against Southern Oregon on Saturday. That performance led to a dominating, 86-71 victory over the Raiders. In that game, Albrecht had 11 rebounds.
Over the two games with SOU, he averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and he shot 83.3% from the floor.
Southern Oregon Softball's Gabby Sandoval and Lauren Quirke earned weekly awards again.
Sandoval won the conference's Pitcher of the Week. Quirke won the conference's Player of the Week.
The duo of Sandoval and Quirke did not allow a single run over a four-game series with Providence.
Under Sandoval and Quirke's leadership, the Raiders now have a record of 30-2.
