ASHLAND, Ore--- Both the Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon Women's soccer teams are finishing up their regular seasons on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, Southern Oregon fell to Corban at home and Oregon Tech won its 6th consecutive match.

Oregon Tech at Northwest:

Oregon Tech (10-1, 8-1 CCC) beat Northwest (5-5-1, 5-3-1 CCC), 3-0, in Kirkland to earn its 6th straight victory.

Once again, the Owls got started quickly. Nyah Kendall scored in the 18th minute to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.

The Owls would take complete control of the match in 31st minute when Amy Morikawa was assisted by Mehana Ortiz for a goal.

Hannah Peterson was the other Owl to score. Her goal came in the 77th minute.

Oregon Tech controlled possession by taking 14 shots compared to Northwest's eight.

Defensively, the Owls are not allowing anything as of late. Not only is it the 6th straight win for OIT, but the 6th straight shutout as well.

Tech is still atop the West Division in the Cascade Conference Standings. With a win on Tuesday, the Owls can lock one of the conference's automatic bids to the NAIA Tournament.

The Owls are technically tied with Corban and holding the tie breaker. Tech could also lock the spot with a loss and a Southern Oregon win over Corban.

Southern Oregon vs Corban:

The Raiders (4-4-1, 4-4-1 CCC) lost their third consecutive match on Monday, at home.

The match was fairly evenly matched through the first half.

In that half, Corban took five shots compared to SOU's three. No corner kicks were awarded and Corban had one more foul than SOU.

The second half is where things got away from SOU.

In the 53rd minute, a shot from Corban hit a Raider directly in the hand about 15 yards away from the goal. It set up a free kick that was scored on by Corban's Mei Suetsugu.

Then, in the 64th minute, Juliana Pires used her speed to squeak by an SOU defender. Pires barely squeezed the ball on the right side of the keeper and Corban took a 2-0 lead.

SOU was able to get four shots off in the second half, but none of the opportunities were capitalized on.

There were no corner kicks in the match until 14 minutes left.

Up next:

Both Oregon Tech and SOU will play in their regular season finales on Tuesday. SOU will take on Corban at noon. That game will be at Raider Stadium. Oregon Tech will play for the automatic qualifier against Northwest at 1 p.m. That match will be in Kirkland.
