EUGENE, Ore--- Starting Oregon quarterback Tyler Shough is entering the transfer portal. The QB made the announcement via Twitter on Friday.

"I would like to thank my coaches at Oregon for the opportunity and many lessons learned these past 3 years," tweeted Shough. "Huge thank you to the fans and Eugene community for welcoming me here and making this place special. Thank you to coach Feld and the entire strength staff for your support and countless hours spent in the weight room."

Shough would also go on to thank various athletic trainers and his teammates before saying goodbye to Oregon.

"I will forever cherish the bonds we have built together. Once a Duck, Always a Duck. I am trusting in the Lord, and excited to announce that I will be entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer with 3 more years of eligibility."

As the starter at Oregon, Shough went 4-3 and threw for 1,559 yards with 13 touchdowns.

While Shough had a very efficient start to the 2020 season, he did struggle in several games including a 41-38 loss to Oregon State.

Oregon fans saw glimpses of Anthony Brown in the Pac-12 Championship Game with USC and against Iowa State in the Fiesta Bowl. In the Pac-12 title game, Brown went 3-4 for two touchdowns. That is in comparison to Shough's 8-15 for 91 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. In the Fiesta Bowl, Brown had a much bigger role. Brown went 12-19 for 147 yards and no interceptions. Shough went 7-9 for 79 yards and one interception in the same game.

Shough and Brown were expected to battle for the starting job in the 2021 season but Shough has decided to leave the program.
