Oregon Tech Men Win CCC Regular Season Championship

It's the Hustlin' Owls first CCC regular season title since they won four straight from 2009 to 2012.

KLAMATH FALLS—Mitch Fink and Seth Erickson combined for 30 points in the second half, and the Oregon Tech men’s basketball team staged a 75-72 upset over No. 3 College of Idaho on Saturday to claim the CCC regular season championship.

"At first it was disbelief. I stood at half court my hands above my head. I never really thought we'd be able to accomplish this and now that we're here, we just worked so hard to get to this point," said Erickson, who scored nine of his 16 points in the second half.

"Surreal. I was lost. I didn't even know where to go. It was one of the happiest moments of my life so far. It was great," said Fink, who scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half.

The win for the Hustlin’ Owls makes it their first CCC regular season title since they won four straight from 2009 to 2012 and guarantees them a spot in the 32-team NAIA Tournament.

No. 6 Oregon Tech will be back in action on Wednesday at Danny Miles Court at 7 p.m. They’ll host eight-seeded Northwest University in a CCC quarterfinal matchup.
