The Southern Oregon women's team won the opening bout in Klamath Falls, but the Oregon Tech men's team redeemed themselves from the close loss earlier this year.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — In round two of the storied rivalry match-up, it was a men's-women's split in the doubleheader at Danny Miles Court. The Raiders women's team took home the win against Oregon Tech, 94-89. On the men's side, the Hustlin' Owls got revenge after losing to SOU earlier this year with an 82-78 win at home.

The women's game was a back and forth affair with nine lead changes throughout the game. Southern Oregon kept the potent Owls attack at bay with an offensive barrage from beyond the arc. The Raiders shot 52 percent from three-point range, totaling 13 three-pointers compared to Oregon Tech's seven.

Redshirt sophomore turned in a team-leading 19-point night, shooting over 50 percent from the field and three-point range. She was joined by four other Raiders players in the double-digit point category. Daranda Hinkey and Kami Walk each tallied 13 points and Bryanna Raff and Kalei Iwawi both scored 12. The 94 combined points from the Raiders team were the most they've scored against any opponent this season.

Abby Kreiser did all she could to keep the Owls in the hunt all game long, scoring 22 points with six assists along the way. Kreiser also went 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, the only player on the team with more than one made three-pointer.

In the men's game right after, the Hustlin' Owls sought out revenge after falling by one point in the final seconds of their first meeting in January. With Seth Erickson sidelined, the offense turned to senior Mitch Fink and he rose to the occasion.

Fink took nearly half of the team's shots from the floor, going 9-for-24 and recording a game-high 28 points for Oregon Tech. He also added nine helpers along the way. Matt Van Tassell, while only playing in 22 minutes of the game, was extremely efficient, going 6-for-10 from the floor en route to a 15-point performance.

With the win, the Oregon Tech men's team improves to 157-84 in the all-time series against Southern Oregon University. The Raiders women's team took the lead in the series with their win, taking the all-time total to 39-38.

SOU is off this weekend while Oregon Tech will host Walla Walla on Friday and Saturday.
