KLAMATH FALLS, Ore--- Behind 12 kills from reigning CCC Attacker of the Week Nicole Reyes, Oregon Tech (9-1) sent a message to the Cascade Conference by knocking off No. 21 Southern Oregon (7-3) on Tuesday. It was the first win for OIT in the last 34 matches with SOU.

Tech did not just win the match, it dominated. All of the work culminating in a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-23, 25-11).

Reyes, who has been Tech's young star for since the spring season, finished with 12 kills and hit .440. She also added three service aces and two assists.

It was not the best hitting performance from either team. OIT finished just .282. However, Southern Oregon finished a dismal .095.

For SOU, Shelby Young had 10 kills and was the only Raider to get to double-digit kills.  While some of the sets came down to the wire, SOU's block wasn't there either.

Believe it or not, Tech also had only one player make it to double-digit kills. That was Reyes. The closest to her was Faith Houck-Wylie with nine.

Coming into the match, Southern Oregon was on a two-game slide but boasted a No. 21 ranking in the latest NAIA rankings. The next poll is set to release on Wednesday, September 15. The Owls have made a statement that it should join the top-25. The Raiders could potentially see a drop out of the top-25 despite having a 7-0 start to the season.

Oregon Tech is now a perfect 5-0 in Cascade Conference play. The Raiders are now 2-2 in the conference.

The two squads will meet again, this time in Ashland, on October 6. First serve for that one is set for 7:00 p.m.
