LINCOLN, Calif. — Oregon Tech Owls softball is red hot and cannot be stopped. Four more wins this weekend give them a 6-0 start to the 2021 campaign. Included in those wins, a pair of victories over the 17th-ranked College of Idaho Yotes.
Saturday's action began where it ended on Friday, with Oregon Tech and the College of Idaho meeting on the diamond. COI jumped out to an early two-run lead in the top of the 3rd, but the Owls weren't down long. In the bottom half of the inning, OIT posted four runs on four hits, fueled by Maggie Buckholz's bases-clearing double scoring three.
Sarah Abramson was able to cruise from there, earning her third win in the 4-3 victory over No. 17 College of Idaho.
Game two was similar in the sense the Owl found themselves down early to their opponent, William Jessup, 3-2 after one inning. But once again, Oregon Tech chipped away at the lead, scoring a run in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings.
Mckenzie Staub threw a complete game, going seven innings while striking out seven to earn her second win of 2021.
Oregon Tech is set to host Northwest University next weekend for a four-game series at John and Lois Stilwell Stadium, but per CCC policy, fans are not allowed to attend. The first of two doubleheaders against the Eagles will start at noon on Friday, February 26th.
