ROCKLIN, Calif. — Two days into the 2021 season, and the defending National Champions haven't missed a beat. With two wins over William Jessup on Saturday, the Raiders softball squad is now 4-0 to start the season.

Game one was another complete-game gem for fifth-year senior Gabby Sandoval, as she threw seven innings of one-run ball while compiling six strikeouts in the 4-1 win. It was her second win of the season as the 2019 All-American improved to 92-17 all-time as a Raider.

The first five batters for SOU went a collective 9-for-19 while accounting for three of the four runs and three of the four RBI. The top five were led by Tayler Walker who went 3-for-4.

In the second game, more impressive performances all around from the Raiders team. Lauren Quirke threw six innings and collected her second win of the season while also going 1-for-3 from the plate. Walker kept the streak alive with the bat as well, going 1-for-1 with a triple and a walk while scoring two runs in the Raiders 7-4 win to sweep the Warriors.

Their next games are set for next Saturday, February 13, where they will play a doubleheader with one game against William Jessup and one against Simpson. Those games will start at 12 pm and 2:30 pm, respectively.
