ASHLAND, Ore--- It was hard to decide what feeling was stranger. There was fact that the Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech women had not played in 21 months. There was the fact that the storied Clash in the Cascades was being played in November. Either way, Southern Oregon didn't look like it had such a long layoff from the rivalry.

Southern Oregon (5-1) dominated Oregon Tech (5-1) on Tuesday, handing the Lady Owls their first loss of the season, in an 81-65 victory.

In the win, four different players scored in double-figures for SOU. Syd'Nee Fryer led the Raiders with 19 points and nine rebounds. Brianna Phiakhamngon finished with 17 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Kami Walk had 15 points. Kalei Iwami had 12 points while shooting 5-13 from the field.

The balanced offensive attack is something SOU head coach Carlotta Kloppenburg-Pruitt, who earned her first career win in the Clash in the Cascades, is looking for this season.

"That is just who we are," said Kloppenburg-Pruitt. "We are a very balanced scoring team. A lot of different players, on any given night, can be in those double-digits."

SOU did the work defensively, and that was the most noticeable difference in the game. Southern Oregon forced 22 Oregon Tech turnovers. The Raiders also had 11 steals.

For Oregon Tech Kristin Farrell and Olivia Sprague both had 15 points on the evening.

Maddyson Tull had 12 points but only played 25 minutes. Tull was forced into foul trouble in the 3rd quarter. She also fouled out midway through the 4th.

Up next, Southern Oregon will play Pacific Union at the William Jessup Thanksgiving Classic. That game is set to tip at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Oregon Tech won't see the hardwood again until December 3. OIT will take on the College of Idaho at 5:30 p.m. in Klamath Falls.
