we've been telling you about the recycling changes happening in medford for the past few months. but this has sparked some confusion. newswatch 12's alicia rubin met up with jamie rosethal with recology in ashland who says she has been getting a lot of calls from customers who are now unsure about what they can and cannot recycle. alica says: there has been some confusion about the differences between ashlands recycling program and medford's recycling program. so i dug a little deeper to find out exactly what goes and what stays. jamie says: there's a lot of confusion about recycling a lot of people papers and the news are talking about changes that are happening in medford and what's happening is the residents of ashland and talent are extremely confused about whether those changes affect them or not medford, central point, jacksonville, and pheonix residents all recycle to rogue disposal in medford which recently limited thier curb-side recyclable material to clean milk jugs, newspapers, tin and aluminum cans and cardboard. but ashland and talent residents recycle to recology in ashland and recology has not enforced any new restrictions. jamie says: recently the cities of ashland and talent voted to continue to recycle so people are thinking that maybe that isn't true when it is we haven't had to change anything about what talent should know that they can continue to recycle everything that has been on our list recology accepts commingled recycling, glass containers, bottles and cans, commingled recycling, glass containers, bottles and cans, carboard, styrofoam, cfl's, and fluorescent tubes. jamie says: it's never been a better time to double check that what you're putting in your recycle cart actually goes but if you've been following that list just fine you're doing great and keep up the good work in ashland, alicia rubin, newswatch 12. you can find a full list of recyclable products for each location on our website, kdrv.com
