ndryanna sheppard is live right now at the jackson county expo. she shows us how one vendor is helping military veterans get outside. ashley, brian i've been talking to vendors setting up all day today. and this one was finished setting up the earliest. it's for an organization called the combat hero bike build. it helps veterans who once loved to ride a motorcycle get back on---even if they lost arms and legs in combat. tomorrow will be the combat hero bike build's first time at the newswatch 12 sportsmen's and outdoor recreation show. it helps builds motorcycles for combat veterans who have lost arms and legs. they're working on their 11-th and 12-th bike's right now --- and have nine more veterans waiting. john says: "motorcycles, they assist these guys with ptsd. they get on a motorcycle they forget everything else and they get some wind therapy and they relax and calm down." the motorcycle's take about three to four to build in medford. right now, the organization is working on a bike for one marine in medford. once all of the work is done, barker says the bikes are valued between 45 thousand and 75 thousand dollars each. john says: "we cover all of the costs. we have no paid employees. it's just vets helping vets. that's it." at the sportsmen's and outdoor recreation show, his organization is selling shirts and taking donations so they can make more bikes. he says the best part is finally showing the veteran their motorcycle once its done. john says: "i've been called all kinds of silly names with big grins on their faces. and i've made these men cry, enjoying seeing their motorcycles. tha'ts my payment." if you'd like to stop by and show your support for the combat hero bike build and see the other vendors, exhibits.. displays and attractions, the sportsmen's and outdoor show starts tomorrow, friday february 22nd and runs until sunday the 24th. it's 8 dollars for adults.. and 1 dollar for kids ages 6 to 12. kids 5 and under are free. live at the jackson county expo in central point, andryanna sheppard, newswatch 12. to get all the details for the event and how to get tickets -- head to our website, kdrv.com, find the community tab, and then click on the newswatch 12's sportsmans and outdoor recreation show section. pacific power
